Should You Sell Your Home FSBO or Through a Real Estate Agent?

However, homeowners with limited experience could be better off using a real estate agent for several reasons. Agents will tend to have a good understanding of the local real estate market, and will likely have useful connections with other agents, lenders and mortgage specialists. In addition, real estate agents are also usually more experienced in appraising the value of homes, and can help you set the right price for your property from the start, instead of wasting time using the "trial and error" approach.

At the end of the day, there is no "right" answer to the question of whether you should sell your home FSBO or use a real estate agent. Obviously, if you are experienced at all in buying properties and you enjoy saving money, selling your home FSBO is an excellent way to go.

But if you lack the experience, or the motivation, to follow through with the sales process, you'll probably be more comfortable working with a qualified real estate agent than going the FSBO route.
